Chef Enzo Privacy Policy
Chef Enzo is an iPhone cooking game published by Alexandru Struta, an individual developer based in Romania (the “developer”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game handles, where it goes and what choices you have. It describes version 1.0 of the game. Contact: alexandrustruta@gmail.com.
1. Short version
- There is no account and no sign-in. The game never asks for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your progress, coins and settings are saved only on your iPhone. We do not receive them and there is no cloud save.
- Version 1.0 shows no advertisements, does no tracking and does not read your advertising identifier (IDFA). We have added no analytics or crash-reporting service of our own; the only analytics-type data is the purchase events that Unity's purchasing library sends to Unity (section 3).
- If you buy or restore Chef Enzo Premium, Apple handles the payment, and Unity's purchasing library built into the game sends technical purchase information to Unity (see section 3).
- The daily reminder is a local notification that you can turn on in Settings. It is created on your iPhone; no server is involved.
2. Information stored on your device
The game keeps these files on your iPhone so it can work:
- Game save: coins, stars per level, collected recipes, upgrades, owned and equipped outfits, pans and decorations, saved power-ups, daily-gift dates and streak, your Dish of the Day best scores, tutorial progress and a few markers that stop the same reward being claimed twice. A backup copy is kept in case saving is interrupted.
- Audio settings: your music and sound volume.
- Reminder setting: whether you turned the daily reminder on.
These files contain no name, email address, account or device identifier, and they are not sent to us. Your iPhone's own backups (iCloud or computer) may include them, depending on your backup settings.
Whether you have an active Premium subscription is checked with Apple each time the game starts or comes back to the foreground. The game keeps that answer in memory only and does not save it.
3. Chef Enzo Premium purchases
Apple. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment, your Apple Account and your purchase history under the Apple Privacy Policy. We never see your card or bank details. The game asks Apple (StoreKit) for product names and prices and for your active subscriptions, and starts a purchase or a restore when you tap the button.
Unity. The game uses Unity In-App Purchasing, a library made by Unity Technologies, to talk to StoreKit. When a purchase is started, completed, pending or fails (and possibly when the game checks an existing subscription at launch or during a restore), this library sends a technical purchase event to Unity's servers. Based on our review of the library, an event can include:
- an identifier that is the same for all of our apps on your iPhone (Apple's “identifier for vendor”), an event ID, a session ID and time stamps;
- device and app details: iPhone model, iOS version, language and region settings, storage size, time since the device last started, the game's bundle ID and version, and the Unity and library versions;
- purchase details: the product, its title, description and price, currency, quantity, the App Store transaction ID and, when a purchase completes, the App Store receipt and signed transaction data.
This happens automatically inside Unity's library; the game has no setting to turn it off. We do not use this information and do not receive reports from it. It does not include your name, email address or advertising identifier (IDFA). Unity handles it under its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy, which also explains how to make a request to Unity.
4. Daily reminder (optional)
In Settings you can tap Enable daily reminder. Only then does iOS ask whether Chef Enzo may send notifications. If you allow it, the game schedules one repeating local notification on your iPhone for 18:00 your local time (“Your Dish of the Day is ready. Come and cook!”). It is not a push notification: nothing is sent to us or to any server. Tap Disable daily reminder in Settings, or turn off notifications for Chef Enzo in the iOS Settings app, to stop it.
5. Advertising, tracking and analytics
Chef Enzo 1.0 shows no advertisements and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission and does not read your advertising identifier (IDFA). The app contains an advertising library (Unity LevelPlay) prepared for a possible future update; in version 1.0 it is never started and sends nothing.
If a future update adds advertisements, we will update this policy first, name the ad providers and the information they use, and ask for your consent and Apple's tracking permission where that is required.
Apart from the purchase events that Unity's purchasing library sends to Unity (section 3), we use no analytics or crash-reporting service, and Unity's engine statistics and cloud crash reporting are switched off in the game's settings. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics; Apple controls that choice.
6. Game Center
Dish of the Day has an optional Apple Game Center leaderboard. Nothing is shared unless you choose to: the game signs you in to Game Center only when you tap Sign in to Game Center, and sends a Dish of the Day score only when you tap Submit score on the results screen.
Game Center is Apple's service. When you use it, Apple processes your Game Center player ID, nickname, avatar and the scores you submit, and shows them to other players on the leaderboard, under the Apple Privacy Policy. We do not receive, store or sell this information. You can sign out or change who sees your profile in the iPhone Settings › Game Center. If you never sign in, your Dish of the Day best score stays only on your iPhone.
7. Permissions and links
The game does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or Bluetooth. The only permission it can ask for is notifications, and only when you turn on the daily reminder.
The Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and music credit buttons open web pages in Safari. Those websites (Cloudflare Pages, incompetech.com and creativecommons.org) receive the usual information any browser sends; the game adds nothing of its own.
8. Emails to us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to answer you and fix problems. Please don't send passwords or payment details. Our email provider (Google) stores this correspondence for us.
9. Legal bases (EU/EEA and UK)
The developer, Alexandru Struta (Romania), is responsible for the information described here. Where the GDPR applies:
- processing to sell and restore Premium is needed to provide the subscription you ask for (performance of a contract);
- including Unity's purchasing library relies on our legitimate interest in using a reliable, widely used purchasing library. Unity decides for itself how it uses the technical purchase events the library sends: it receives them for its own purposes, as an independent controller under its own privacy policy (section 3), not on our behalf;
- answering emails relies on our legitimate interest in supporting the game, or on steps you ask us to take;
- the daily reminder runs only after you turn it on and allow notifications.
We do not sell your information. Apple and Unity may process information outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in their own policies. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect legal rights.
10. How long information is kept
- Game files stay on your iPhone until you delete the app. Deleting the app deletes your progress, and we cannot recover it. Offloading the app keeps its data, and device backups may keep copies.
- Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then deleted, unless the law requires us to keep them.
- Apple and Unity keep their records under their own policies. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription or delete Apple's records.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information about you, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Email us to use these rights; we may need to confirm the request is yours. We do not hold your game data or the purchase events, so for those we may refer you to Apple or Unity. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example in the country where you live or, in Romania, the ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
12. Children
Chef Enzo is a game for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
13. Changes and contact
We will post any changes here with a new date. If a change significantly affects how your information is used, we will also tell you in the game or ask for your consent where required. Questions or requests: alexandrustruta@gmail.com.
